The module with the L293D controller allows control of the direction of rotation and speed of DC brush motors, or one stepper motor
Shield enables bidirectional operation:

2 DC motors with 8-bit speed resolution.
1 stepper motors (unipolar or bipolar)

Motor Shield is invaluable in the construction of robotic structures whose movement is based on DC motors.

Supports motors operating at up to 36 volts DC.
L293D includes circuit overheat protection.
The maximum channel current is 600mA.
With ARK screw connectors, the power supply, and the motors themselves, can be easily connected by screwing the wires together with a screwdriver.
Control signals were output to popular goldpin connectors by directly connecting to Arduino boards
Pull-up resistors keep motors off when voltage is applied.
