Thermal fuse made in a hermetic metal housing with axial leads. Activation of the fuse occurs when the ambient temperature exceeds the melting point of the safety element and then after the melting point, the coil springs are unwound and the electrical connection is broken.

Fuses are disposable, once they are tripped they must be replaced with new ones.

Thermal protection is an additional independent protection against overheating
